Come along... to Yamhill County, the Heart of Oregon Wine Country!
Yamhill County, in the North Willamette region of Oregon, is home to more than 80 wineries and 200 vineyards. Yamhill County has been recognized as one of the premier Pinot noir producing areas in the world--rivaling the best in Burgundy. Local wineries also produce Pinot gris, Pinot blanc, Chardonnay, Melon, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, sparkling wine, and some Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet and Merlot.
Oregon's leading wine region, Yamhill County has one-third of the state's wineries and vineyards.
The Yamhill County wineries are rapidly becoming a tourist destination, and many bed & breakfasts, motels and fine restaurants in the county make wine touring a pleasure. Antiques and other shopping destinations enhance a trip to the area.
Yamhill County is 714 square miles of rolling farm lands, vineyards, timber and small towns. The wine country begins just a brief, scenic 30 minutes from Portland, Oregon's major city. |

The Yamhill County valley has a moderate, maritime climate with about 40 inches of annual rainfall, especially suitable for premium wine grapes. However, it lies between the Coast range, where precipitation can reach 150 inches a year and the Cascade Mountain range, where annual snowfall is in excess of 200 inches.

During the regions key ripening period in September, conditions are usually warm and dry, excellent for proper maturation of the fruit.
Please contact the individual wineries for more information on direct shipment of wine, events, hours of operation, ownership, vineyard plantings, etc.
